RKN Studio is a collaboration of design, function and marketing.
Meet our experts.
RON NUTTALL
Ron prefers to keep things fun and functional, both in life and on the Internet. He believes that a business website should load quickly, make an effective presentation for the company, and give the reader simple paths to buy a product or get in touch. "Everything else is just fluff."
MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY
Ron has been involved in the Information Technology market for 15 years. He has been doing some form of coding for over 10 years and is always researching the newest technologies and expanding his knowledge base to provide efficient solutions for his clients. He is a stickler for clean code. When you work with RKN Studio, you can rest assured that your site will be code compliant when it is turned over to you.
BUSINESS ACUMEN
Ron earned his Bachelor's in Business Administration in 2000. Quickly thereafter, he found his way to the forefront of business leadership in many aspects. As a project leader, he has led multimillion dollar projects involving IT consolidations, expansions, enhancements, upgrades, redesigns and countless other objectives. He has trained thousands of technical staff, implemented various technical solutions, and led technical projects across the United States and Canada. Currently, Ron is managing development and support personnel for a large health care organization in the Los Angeles area. He has been recognized by executive leaders as a solid, consistent and accountable leader.
KRISTY NUTTALL
Kristy is a recovering corporate addict who has learned to think outside the box when it comes to building a business.
LEGAL INTELLIGENCE
For many years, Kristy was employed by attorneys as a paralegal and legal assistant. She started in Civil, Family and Personal Injury law (yes, she worked for an ambulance chaser), but eventually she landed in the world of Entertainment Law at companies like the Motion Picture Association of America and Warner Brothers. While at the MPAA, she was involved with researching and developing laws that would set up the initial legal structure of the Information Super Highway - known today as the Internet. She left the MPAA to work on copyright protection of the Looney Tunes for Warner Bros. Amidst the Warner sound stages and back lots, Kristy got back in touch with her creative right brain.
AN EYE FOR DESIGN
Kristy launched My Little Pretty - a successful jewelry design company - from the ground up. This meant creating everything from jewelry designs to website design and, of course, all the branding and marketing materials. During her years at My Little Pretty, she was approached to help other businesses work on branding, graphic design, and website design, and often she was asked to give advice on building a business.
In 2008, Kristy went into a joint venture with three savvy women to create the blog, "Where's My Damn Answer?" - a blog written by three women on wine and one on tequila who are searching for the answers to life. Kristy has done (and continues to do) all the graphic, web design and branding of this site and contributes content to it on a weekly basis.
Kristy has always had one foot in the design world and uses her talent to help many businesses get their message across. Check out our Website Samples page to get a sneak peak at her work.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
In 2009, Kristy and her partner in crime, Cathy Craig from Where's My Damn Answer, launched the Where's My Damn Business Answer Think Tank to help local women take their businesses to the next level. The Think Tank has since grown to over 50 members in less than a year. Social Networking was a big piece of making that happen, and Kristy is very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of networks like Facebook, Twitter, Blogher, StumbleUpon, etc.
Today, Kristy brings her legal, design and business background to the table for many of our RKN Studio clients. She's typically the one at the table who says, "Wait a minute, what if we tried ..." which is just one of the reasons our clients love her.
