RKN Studio is proud to announce that we’ve formed a strategic partnership with the lovely ladies at Prim & Pixie.  Lisa and Jennifer are sisters and are the creative force that helps so many brides make their special day THAT much better.  They specialize in creating the perfect invitations, favors, branding and more.  Their graphics and creative energy is awesome and we couldn’t be happier about working with them.

Ron and I have been friends with Lisa and Jennifer for years and in a non-direct kind of way, I think we were working on ways to work together all along.  In fact, do you remember when I did the post on scrapblogging way back when?  I think that’s when the true seed was planted for me.  I just hadn’t figured out what kind of fertilizer to put into the pot to make it grow yet.

By working with Prim & Pixie, we’ll be able to take the invitation that Prim & Pixie designs for their client and turn it into a website that the bride and groom, expecting mother (or anyone else that needs to invite folks to a shin dig) will be able to use throughout the planning of their wedding or special day/party.  They’ll be able to do things like keep track of their rsvp’s, have a custom domain name (that will grow with them), share with friends on Facebook and Twitter, add photo albums and flash.  One of the most exciting parts for the bride and groom is that once the wedding is done and the thank yous have been sent, they’ll be able to add a “Face Lift” package to get a completely new look on their site so they can then write about things like:

  • their first house
  • their first pregnancy
  • their new business
  • … and many more unlimited avenues (the options are truly endless)

We’ll be launching the new program the first quarter of 2011 with 4 or 5 initial layouts to choose from and will be adding more layouts as the program grows.  We’ve been working on pricing packages for this partnership and they are REALLY reasonable.  We can’t wait to give you more details.

Prim & Pixie did our Christmas cards this year. Jennifer did the photography for us and Lisa did the graphic design.  The cards are amazing … can’t wait to get them in my hot little hands to start addressing :D .  I’ll leave you with a little teaser of just how much they ROCK!

Happy Holidays fom RKN Studio!

As we hit the holiday months, it’s going to be even tougher to close out 2010 in a strong fashion due to time demands, etc. While we may not be toasting each other at midnight if these do (or don’t) get done, they are still important to allow us to kick start 2011.  We thought it might help you out a little by sharing our “By Year End” to do list to inspire you to create your own “By Year End To Do List”:

  • Plan for a successful New Year in 2011 – Review work & determine what new services we can add for our clients.
  • Offer Upgrade Packages and Face Lifts for Clients – Within the last couple months there have been some important upgrades for Joomla and WordPress – there is more information about this HERE.
  • Update our portfolio – add new work onto RKN site (most have been updated except the sites we are either just finishing or have just finished in the last mo. – check them out HERE)
  • Clean up email inbox – this one is pretty tough, but we’re working on it.
  • Organize work area – we JUST finished this one. Boy it feels better to have a workable workspace.
  • Review our Social Media Strategy – seems like this would be an easy one, but just like you, we struggle with finding time to do our social media stuff that we know needs to be done to grow our business. It does take commitment and we’re going to make it a priority going into 2011.
  • Assess Our Marketing Strategy – believe it or not, we’ve not really worried about this since we started this business. RKN Studio hasn’t had to worry about finding clients because they find us through our loyal & awesome customers who refer them to us (have I mentioned, we give prizes for referrals yet?… we do!). This year, we are finally going to take the plunge and focus on some marketing to take RKN Studio to the next level.
  • Develop Client Appreciation Program – We have some really fun ideas on what to do for this but can’t tell you just yet!

This morning I was reading an article on emarketer.com about the combination of Email Marketing and Social Media Marketing (SMM) and how the two can/should be used together to garner the best results.  Studies show that by boosting social media efforts through sites like Facebook and Twitter, you can improve your email campaigns.  Since the goal is to get your message in front of as many people as possible and to then convert those people reading it into sales … it makes sense … right?

When used right, businesses are able to reach a much broader audience by sharing with  bigger networks (like Facebook and Twitter).  The most successful marketers are currently implementing things like:

  • tweeting a link to their e-mail newletters
  • sending out blog entries to their e-mail lists
  • posting links to blog entries on their Facebook fan page
  • included “follow us” links in e-mail messages
  • added sign up forms on social media pages like Facebook

Take a minute to read the full article – What Are the Benefits of Email-Social Media Integration?

What are you currently doing to increase the odds of “Getting Your Message Across”?

Are you aware of the simple rule of thumb that says your email content should generally be no more than around 20% images and no less than around 80% text?

Relying too heavily on images can mean much of your content will be initially invisible to recipients who have images turned off in their email. A very image heavy email can also be more likely to end up in a spam folder.

Looks like the cat is out of the bag!  I, Jason Price have officially joined the RKN Studio team, and the news is all over this event.  Here are a few articles I found online:

The list goes on, but I’ll stop there.  The full text of the article is below.  I am so damn excited to be part of RKN, and I’m looking forward to helping their clients generate visibility and revenue with SEO, SEM, multimedia and e-commerce.

RKN Studio of Santa Clarita is pleased to announce that it has added a new partner, Jason Price of Valencia.

Price comes to RKN Studio with 10 years of experience in business development.  Formerly the Web & Interactive Media Specialist for The Signal, Price spent the previous seven years with Yahoo! Advertising and Business Solutions, assisting thousands of small and medium-sized businesses with search engine marketing, e-commerce and website optimization – services that Price now brings to the RKN Studio suite.

Known for his energy and passion, Price was awarded the 2004 Yahoo! Super Star, presented to 25 of 8,100 employees worldwide for embodying the corporate values of “Teamwork, Excellence, Innovation, Customer Fixation, Community, and Fun.”

“During my time at Yahoo, we realized the best results come from connecting businesses to users and their online communities,” he said.  “Everything else was secondary.  After seeing the work RKN Studio has done in this realm, I’m excited to join their team.”

A California Institute of the Arts graduate, Price also brings to RKN Studio years of leadership roles in the Santa Clarita community.

His positions have included founding director of the Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund in Valencia, past president of the Repertory East Playhouse in Newhall, and senior member of JCI Santa Clarita Valley – also known as the SCV Jaycees.

Last year, the California Jaycee Foundation and JCI California honored Price as one of ten Outstanding Young Californians, recognized for their contributions to the state among thirteen categories, such as economic innovation, philanthropic contribution or cultural achievement.

“Having built small businesses in this valley, I’ve realized that the incredible people here, their passion and ideas, and the fantastic sense of philanthropy all combine to create a wealth of opportunities,” Price said.  “I’m proud to live and work here in Santa Clarita.”

“Jason brings to the table knowledge, experience, outside-the-box thinking and passion, and we couldn’t be happier,” said partners Ron and Kristy Nuttall.  “We can’t wait to see what this partnership does for our clients.”
